Stylish and effective lanai heater
I wanted to get a to get a patio (lanai) heater to take the chill off during the winter months. I’ve looked through all the different listings but I found the heaters appear to be made by the same company at a wide ranging price. I selected this one as it was mostly stainless steel with some aluminum and shipping was included.The package was a rather large box that was extremely well packaged and heavy too, about 60lbs. I was able to assemble it in about an hour. The instructions were very easy to follow. It did help that I had a power screwdriver instead of trying to use the very cheap one included with the package. The greatest amount of time was spent removing the protective plastic on the parts. Because the quartz (glass) tube should not have any oils on it which can occur from your hands I did handle it with some cotton gloves.The heater is very well designed and very solid. I found it puts out a nice amount of heat to take the chill off. Keep in mind it its windy the effectiveness decreases dramatically. Having experience this type of heater at restaurants this totally met my expectations.One suggestion I have is when lightning the heater, push in the knob and turn it until it stops. Keep holding in for a few seconds and then press the electronic ignition. Keep pushing the button in to allow the pilot flame to heat up the thermocouple. After 10-15 seconds and can release and then turn the knob to operation. You will see the manual sort of shows to turn the knob to pilot but actually you want it and the zigzag symbol.Because the construction is superb, mad of stainless steel and aluminum and surprisingly came with a cover I expect this to last many years. Fantastic buy.
