Beautiful glass bulb with stunning colors
Another fantastic Hue product! This Lightguide Ellipse is gorgeous and really stands out. The large glass bulb has a timeless design that blends old-school charm with a futuristic feel. It’s bright, the colors are brilliant, and it works seamlessly with the Hue Sync box and all the Hue features. I used it to replace a fan fixture, and it looks absolutely stunning. The fact that it’s hand-blown glass is just the cherry on top. Definitely a five-star light!

its exactly what you want from Hue
I love Hue Bulbs. These are easy to set up and install using the Hue Hub. Its a beautiful design for open/clear lamps like I have over my kitchen island.Settings are easy to use so you can set up an scene to have them always turn onto. Control very thing with you app or via your home assistant.Lights are dimable and multicolored set it to whatever you want.I know Hue can be more expensive then others out there but you get a great light with great warrenty.

Pretty, but not very bright
Beautiful light, but not very bright. This is an accent light not a room filling light

Attractive but expensive
Very attractive and responsive bulb, as you expect from Hue. Unfortunately it also is the price point you expect from Hue.

Better than the rest. At a price.
Have these as accent lights over a set of bedroom nightstands. While more expensive than other brands the physical style and flexibility of the Hue app is unmatched by other brands. If you are using a blended environment for smart home controls this will work with a Hue Hub or a Honey Pro. It can be exposed to Google and Apple HomeKit. If you want all the Hue features though you will want a Hue hub.Home automation is still a convoluted and overly complex world, but these lights really are a delight once programmed and working. They’ve been dead reliable whichever home automation app I use. That’s saying a lot as in the same room I have four “smart” window blinds that constantly lose connection and disappear. As far as color and brightness goes, I wouldn’t use these as primary lights. But as an accent light or a bedroom nightstands lamp they are more than adequate. They respond nearly instantly to changes down via both smart switches and phone apps. The color variances are a fun bit of fluff but for me are more gimmick than practical daily feature (how often do you want a purple bedroom)? That said the daylight shifting feature where with either the Hue App or HomeKit the color can shift according to the time of day is a very nice feature. So this feels like a case of getting what you pay for. Highly recommend and would buy again if the need arises.

Overpriced, but at least it still works as a light.
I had intended this to be a quirky design element of a room I’m improving, and I had expectations of an interesting product. This is not that. The supposed “lightguide” effect is an utter lie, the effect is not at all anything like in the pictures, and the glass is frankly not reflective enough to accomplish any kind of neat effect. It’s not like I’m returning it, but this is more of a dollar store novelty with a really high quality light and brand behind it. I’ll enjoy the lighting it provides, sure, but I really was excited for something more than this.

Beautiful addition to my hue family
More beautiful than I imagined! Also bigger than I pictured! Looks amazing on its own in a wall sconce. You can tell the glass is quality hand crafted. Looks magical and makes me want to buy all the other shapes!

I absolutely love this bulb. Yes, it’s pricey, but the build quality, the smooth lighting, and the Hue app make it worth every penny. It really elevates the room.
