    Tons of Heat
I purchased two of these heaters for a covered patio area. These were the highest BTU units (55,000) that I could find on Amazon. They are no joke. They put out a ton of heat (you can’t stand next to them on the highest setting). The assembly was straighforward with clear instructions, and all of the necessary hardware. I had a question for East Oak customer service, and they were super responsive. One tip – it is easier to fill the weighted platform with the sand/water mixture before securing it to the base. If you need heat, don’t look any further. Well made and works well.

Works great after getting a new hose
Got a great price in July on this East Oak patio heater. Quick assembly in November and easy startup. Good heat distribution with no wind. However, starting smelling propane during use. Completed leak checks with finding no leak. Contacted Customer Support at East Oak. They quickly responded and sent me a new hose with a PDF on installation details. Completed replacement and tested new hose in less that 30 minutes – all fixed. Great customer support; I’ll buy products again from East Oak.

Great heat output, solid value, and amazing customer service
Looks great, works well, puts out a lot of heat, and can’t beat the price for all that. Bonus points for East Oak’s customer service: two years after I bought the heater, the base started rusting and became unstable. I reached out, and within 24 hours they replied and sent a free replacement part. The warranty is legit.Only gripe is the blue protective film on the reflector- it’s a pain to remove and takes about 30 minutes to get it all off. I also wish it felt a bit more sturdy. Tightening the bolts helps, but I was nervous about over-tightening and breaking something. That said, it’s stable enough that I’m not actually worried about it tipping over, just the pole can look like it’s not perfectly perpendicular to the ground at times, which repositioning it slightly will solve. I Wouldn’t trade the portability for more weight/sturdiness though- super easy to move around (as long as the propane tank’s out), which is a big win. Overall very happy with it.

A great portable heater for the patio or the garage!
This is a great heater for the garage and I imagine for the patio too. Unfortunately, it got too cold for patio use so I’ll have to test that out in the Spring. I have tried using those sunflower heaters you put on 20# cylinders as well as a 200,000 BTU propane contractor canister heater in my unfinished garage, and what little radiates off of those does little to keep me warmed, and the rest, well just goes up through the trusses and out the ridge vent! Enter the patio heater. With it’s large reflector, it reflects much of the radiant heat downward back to the floor where I want it, and surprisingly, very little goes over the heater – less than one would expect. So, why only four stars? This unit is delivered with “some assembly required.” This was not an issue until I got to assembling the heater post and the heater head. The bolts and threaded inserts stripped out while securing these parts. The bolts to secure the head post extension were very soft and I stripped out one of the Philips heads in securing that part. I am currently using the heater in this condition, but when I start moving it around, I’m sure I will need to readdress this problem. In addition, the holes for the heater head didn’t align well, and the head is slightly tilted. So, besides the assembly issues, I’m still quite pleased with the unit. It looks great and performs well and is like a heated oasis in a sea of ice! I’m sure it will be very enjoyable in the cool Spring and Autumn nights on the patio as well!

    Thank you May
What a beautiful product, out of the box the heater was fantastic and we enjoyed our first evening of taking the chill out of the air. Went to use the heater a second time and the igniter no longer worked, was a little bummed but sent an email off to East Oak and got a response from May. Within a few weeks (do to part availability) we had a new heater element from hose all the way to the heater box. Everything now works great. We are very happy with the product and May with customer service has been stellar! Thank you May and East Oak.

    TIPS FOR ASSEMBLY
Just assembled this heater today and so far, love it! The hardest part of the assembly was pulling off all the blue film on the metal hood parts. We found it came off easier after warming the metal and film with a hair dryer. – I was not sure if I would need to fill the bottom with sand or water, so we assembled it without anything. Big mistake! FILL it first because trying to push sand into it after it is assembled was not ideal. The instructions were clear. We fully assembled the bottom and the top separately indoors so we only needed to join them with 4 small screws outside in the cold. It was easy to start and puts out a good amount of heat. So glad to have this for my patio!

Worked very well for the price I would buy another
Very sturdy he kicks off a lot of heat only drawback is if you put it in the center and you’re sitting in lower chairs you don’t quite get the heat. It’s a little too tall actually. If the deflector is able to aim it down more that would probably make it a better heating unit or if you found a way to lower it so it’s closer to the ground.

The cold will not keep me inside again
The heater really packs some heat. The installation couldn’t have been more easy. Tools were early labeled and the instructions was clear. The most annoying part of it t was taking off the blue tape from the heat shield. Also shout out to the other reviewer that suggested feeling the base with sand/water mix before installing the rest of it. Im sitting under it right now and it’s perfect for those cold chilly nights when I just want to go outside and have a cigar and drink. It def looks like it cost more than I paid for it. Very happy with this purchase

The heat is there and is easy to light up.On the other hand, after one year, there are some spots (light surface rust) on the stainless(!) steel cover over the propane bottle. I’m unable to get rid of them.
