These are amazing.
My first purchase of this device was for a dishwasher, with the intention of using both the humidity/temperature and the door sensors to determine if my “dumb” dishwasher had finished it’s cycle. While the humidity/temperature didn’t work as I hoped (neither changed noticeably during the cycle), the door sensor worked phenomenally, even though it wasn’t perfect lined up.I’ve been adding door/window sensors around my house, and have gone through several other sensors at my front door, where there is an uneven gap between the door and the paneling around it. Another brand sort of worked – it had to sit sideways, and then it didn’t have a good enough point to stick, so it fell off frequently (triggering false alarms on my Home Assistant automations that the door was open). Enter this device. You can see by the photo that it is not only some distance apart, but also not on the same physical plane. Doesn’t matter. As you can see by the second photo, it’s STILL showing as closed. Not only that, it’s not awkwardly protruding at the door (the other that sorta worked tipped into the doors path occasionally) and it just WORKS.If you need a door/window sensor that can stretch across gaps, THIS is the only device you want to choose.

Very easy to attach and pair
It paired flawlessly with Hubitat, though it’s listed as a SmartThings brand device in Hubitat (Aeotec is the hardware manufacturer of all SmartThings brand devices). S2 (secure) mode and unsecure mode both worked, and status is reported quickly. It’s on the front door which sees a lot of traffic, and the attery is barely worn downat all in the last month. The two halves don’t need to be perfectly touching to detect closed state, which is helpful when your trim is slightly raised relative to the door itself.

Works great but does use batteries pretty quick
chews through batteries like candy. You can find a usb to battery 2450 adapter on amazon to eliminate the need to batteries if you have a plug nearby. I got 2 weeks of use from the battery that came with it. I just changed it, and we will see how long the new battery lasts while i wait for my usb to 2450 adapter to arrive. I use mine to tell me when my dryer in the basement is done and it work flawlessly for that with its motion sensing.

Great sensor for automation
Great sensor for automation with SmartThings. You can use it to sense vibration, so when someone is knocking on the door you can be alerted. Easy to setup and use with Home Assistant and SmartThings. Battery life is not so good, after 3 months it is at 50% battery life.

Works with screened casement window
I’d been wanting a window sensor for a while, to turn off the A/C if a window is opened. But all of the windows we’re most likely to open are casement windows, with screens. I hesitated for a long time, unable to determine if any sensor would work for this use case. Based on another review that indicated this sensor works well with a large gap, I decided to give it a try. I am delighted to confirm that it works–at a right angle, and through a window screen. The first photo shows how I verified it would work before committing to the 3M adhesive; good old masking tape.

Great Sensor
Does a great job of detecting if my door is open or not and alerts me promptly and the fact it also senses vibration and temperature comes in handy in a big way. Definitely recommend

Be careful where you place it
It does what it is designed to do but be careful where you place it.I have 5 Multipurpose Sensor Door/Window Sensors throughout my house. Unfortunately, whenever we drive into or out of the garage, my garage window sensor picks up the vibration from our garage door open/close system. As a result, I have replaced the battery for this sensor numerous times this year; whereas, my other Multipurpose Sensor Door/Window sensors have not needed a new battery. It would be nice if the vibration sensor could be turned off but the application doesn’t provide that capability. So I’ll move this sensor out of the garage and over to another area with less vibrations; then I’ll buy another sensor for the garage window that doesn’t have a vibration feature.Otherwise, I’m a happy Aeotec/SmartThings user.

Great for monitoring Temperature
I truly love this sensor. Easy to set up and monitor. I do however have two issues, 1st, the battery life is short. Thankfully amazon batteries are reasonable. Secondly, in smartthings it shows up as two different sensors. The contact sensor, (which I’m not using) I have the sensor in my attic just to monitor yhe temperature. The icon insmartthings which is labeled as temp, shows items hasn’t updated yet. It never updates. So I leave this item in a room called Ghost. It would be nice if I didn’t have to open the contact icon to view the temperature. Otherwise this sensor is great. Just wished the battery would last longer. I’m still happy with my purchase

Los dispositivos de baterías no repiten la señal, deberían ser más claros en eso
