Can Smart blinds also be installed on the ceiling?
Our systems work universally for wall mounting or ceiling mounting. The installation manual has a clear description for both options.
What is the difference in a 5 channel and 15 channel remote?
A 5 channel remote can control up to 5 shades, and 15 channel remote can control up to 15 shades.
Can I overcharge the battery by leaving the charger on too long?
No. The motor and battery both have integrated overcharge protection circuits. This means that the battery will limit the charge it will accept if plugged in longer than necessary.
Can you hide channels that are not in use?
Yes, on a multi-channel remote, they can be adjusted to show the number of channels in use; e.g. if there are 8 motors on the job you can select it to be an 8 channel remote.
How long will the battery last before it needs to be recharged?
It depends on the motor model and the size/weight of the shade.Generally, the target is 600 up/down cycles.

Quality, style and usability rolled into one efficient product.
Great vendor! I’m so glad we didn’t go through a specialized company that comes out and charges a small fortune to install shades. The shades through this vendor are top quality, easy to install and the remote control worked perfectly to sync the two separate sections simultaneously. It took about an hour to attach the two separate sections to the ceiling and figure out the programming on the remote control. We ordered and tried the product first. Finding it easy to install and use and the quality of the product as expected, we placed an order for another 2 units that covered a slider in another room. The vendor kept in touch via email through the entire process. Kudos to this vendor for running a tight ship.

Love the smartwings blinds
We absolutely love the smartwings blinds. We first got them for our huge bay windows after checking out the swatches. They looked so good that we replaced our regular blinds with these at other places in the house. Works well to keep light out. The remote control functionality works great. The fabric quality is great. Good color options. There are detailed instructions on how to measure and it was a super accurate fit. Gives a very clean and polished modern look. And the customer service is great as well. Great product and would absolutely recommend it.

Couldn’t be better!
This is a great product, I recommend whole-heartedly. There are only a few things to know:- I wanted to use Google Assistant so I ordered the Zigbee version. This worked perfect but you need a Zigbee hub. I selected the Samsung “Smart Things” device. The “Smart Wings” blinds are preset in the “Smart Things” software so there is no guessing to get it to work with the hub. Once you setup the blinds in the software and then link the Smart Things software to Google Assistant you are good to go.- Setup was a breeze, they program the remote from the factory. If you have multiple blinds depending on the remote you select you can operate 1 or more blinds on the same channel. You only need 1 remote for setup and adjustment.- Installation was also a breeze, they include brackets that you attach to your window and the blinds just clip on. Takes 15 minutes or less and they are easy to remove.- The upper and lower limits come pre-set but you can change them with the remote.- The battery level shows in the “Smart Things” app. I recommend charging with a portable battery pack like you use for a cell phone. I put my first set in and fully charged at the end of August. They are both 60% now so I would estimate needing to charge every 3 to 6 months depending on use. If you can hide the wire the instructions note you can leave them plugged in.- The instructions are very good but online only. Comes with a QR code to scan.My recommendation is to order these if smart shades are what you are looking for. They look great, feel high quality and mine arrived on the early side of their estimates. This review is my own opinion, I paid for these with my own money so this is not a shill review.

Excellent Value
I quoted a number of different motorized shades before landing on these. I needed three 54″ x 72″ shades, so it wasn’t going to be a small investment and most were 2-3x the cost of the Smartwings. I felt like I was taking a big risk not going with a name brand shade for a custom sized product, but the other good reviews put me somewhat at ease.Once I ordered, I was very happy with how everything went. They messaged me the same day I ordered to confirm the measurements with me, which was important as not all of my windows have exactly the same size opening. Shipping was faster than Amazon quoted and each of the 3 shades were clearly labeled and cut to exactly the correct size.Installation was a breeze. If you have ever installed any kind of blind, you won’t have any issues. The blinds were pre-set to the height I gave the in my measurements, but there are instructions that show you how to adjust the stopping point up or down if you need to make changes. When I first tried them out, they all moved at different speeds, but I think that was due to differing battery charge levels. Once I had them all fully recharged, they all move together in unison. The video with this review shows them in action from about 15 feet away. The motors do make some noise, but its not anything I would consider loud. I think the video makes it seem louder than they really are.I ordered them with one remote and one USB stick that I can pair with my Samsung SmartThings hub. Both work flawlessly. I now have it all setup to where I can open/close/partially close any or all 3 together from my phone or smartwatch, which is how I operate them 99% of the time. You need a remote for any height adjustments or programming, but once that is set, if you have a smart home bridge, you can throw it in a drawer and forget about it.I am really happy with this purchase, they are better than I was expecting for the price. I don’t have a need for any more motorized shades right now, but if I did, I would absolutely buy them here.

I debated buying these blinds for months. I finally bit on the purchase and they’re somehow ever better than I expected. The good:- Support: The immediate after-sales support was perhaps the best I’ve ever experienced on Amazon. A SmartWings rep reached out to confirm my measurements and checked those measurements with the production team. During install I reached out again and the team was able to provide any outstanding answers I needed- Build Quality: The fabric is lovely, the valence looks great, and the overall assembly of the blinds is fantastic. Easy 5 stars for build quality alone- Motor: I chose the zigbee motor. It’s relatively quick and quite quiet- Integration: The Zigbee setup in Home Assistant couldn’t be easier. Follow the pairing instructions with your zigbee gateway of choice and you’re off to the races. The fact that SmartWings provides step-by-step instructions for multiple platforms, including more technical ones, is really impressiveThe less good:- Instructions: The install itself was relatively straightforward, but the instructions fail to provide any guidance wrt how deep in your window frame the valence should be installed. I ultimately had to reach out to techincal support on the SmartWings website for guidanceConsiderations:- Hardware: Smartwings only included 4 screws for my blinds despite them having 3 clips. I had to provide my own screws for the third mount- Depth: For inside-mount, if you’re looking to maximize blackout performance, your valence should be installed flush with your window openingBottom line: These are absolutely wonderful blinds. They were pretty easy to install, even despite gaps in the instructions. The technical and sales support was top notch and more than justifies a slightly higher price than the more budget competitors on Amazon.

I did not want powered blinds. If / when the motor fails, a motorized blind will brick and be unusable. Manual blinds with a string or chain can be repaired and may last (a lot) longer. However: when I searched on Amazon for roller blinds, the Smartwings products kept moving to the top of the search results. They had the best price and best reviews. The best manual blind alternatives to the Smartwings motorized blinds were more costly and less popular. And so, I decided to take a chance on Smartwings. The build quality is solid. I know this because I had to disassemble and reassemble the first (of three) blinds that I ordered several times. The blind made grinding and knocking sounds when operating. I contacted Smartwings technical support and they went several rounds with me, suggesting potential fixes and sending links to videos that explained how to adjust blind components. Nothing worked, but technical support was unfailingly fast and friendly whenever I asked for help. Every individual component of the blind worked as expected and tested flawlessly, but when assembled together they made strange noises. Smartwings eventually concluded that the blind just wasn’t going to work to spec (haunted, maybe?) and sent me a replacement. Kudos to their technical support staff both for sticking with the extended debugging process, and then sending a replacement when it was appropriate.Things that might not be clear from the product description:[*.] With regards to colour, I found it difficult to trust the product photos for the blinds: they’ve clearly been Photoshopped. Smartwings sells a package of fabric swatches (5″x8.5″) on Amazon. Ordering the swatches first cost $10 and added a few weeks to the process but provided peace-of-mind.[*.] It is possible to adjust the upper and lower limits of the blind. If you have any concerns about how the blind will fit in your window, it’s better to order one that is a little too long (vs too short). I needed blinds for three windows, and the windows are not exactly the same size (one is 3/4″ taller than the others). I ordered all 3x blinds to fit the tallest window, and then tweaked the lower limit on 2x of the blinds to make them fit the shorter windows. It worked very well, and because they are the same size the blinds are interchangeable.[*.] The price you see on the product page is for the smallest / simplest blind. When you “add to cart”, the Amazon website will walk you through a series of questions to lock down exact measurements and requirements. The process is thorough; you won’t have to worry about errors / misunderstandings in your order.[*.] If you plan to order multiple blinds, you will need to order at least one remote during the website customization process. There are two models of remote available: one that supports 1-5 blinds, and one that supports 1-15 blinds. It you order five completely different blinds, across five different orders, they can all be made to work with the same remote. All of the factory programming can be reset / reconfigured.[*.] It is apparently possible to use two remotes with the same blinds. I only have one remote, so I can’t test this. Also: I don’t see a way to order (just) a second remote through Amazon. Based on my experience with Smartwings support, however, I expect that you could contact them to make arrangements to purchase a second remote if required.I have been using Smartwings blinds for several months and I have no complaints. They look good and function well.A note, re: the remote programming instructions: Don’t pay too much attention to the “hold button for X seconds” or “wait for the LED to flash” bits in the manual. The only thing that counts is the blind “jogging”. The instructions might say to hold a button on the remote for two seconds until the blind jogs. That really means: hold the button down for as long as it takes for the blind to jog. Could be much longer than the instructions say.

Outstanding customer communication, high quality (metal rollers), precise measurements, and advanced features such as Bluetooth and wifi (as well as Alexa enabled) at a 1/3 of the price of local dealers make these blinds an exceptional deal. I’ve now had them for 3 months and they work flawlessly and look very high-end. They have an internal battery that lasts 6+ months before needing a charge (assuming they are used a couple of times a day). I have some automated to open and close at specific times of the day, and I ordered variants that are total blackout and 70% opacity (allowing 30% of light to pass). It’s useful to pre-order the sample book to confirm an exact match of color and style before you order. The total blackout and 70 % opacity samples look exactly the same from the inside at night. You can measure to 1/16″ of an inch and the blinds match these measurements 100%. Wifi setup can be tricky: look at the Youtube video for precise instruction to uniquely set each blind. Once you learn the basic steps, it’s easy. Highly recommended.

Not often do you get more than you pay for, but the quality of these blinds suggest a much higher cost. They look fantastic and function perfectly. A bit fussy to set up “just so”, but worth the effort.Start with the sample book for answers to your fabric quality and colour questions. And be sure to nail your measurements.
