They worked, then a month later they didn’t
Updated review 11/29/22:About a week after 9 bulbs disconnected on the same day (see below), the issue was fixed. According to some posters on Reddit, the disconnection was due to a zigbee software issue which was fixed by Amazon. That sounds like it might have been the problem. At this moment, all my bulbs are working properly and according to their routines. This is a thing of beauty when they work. They are great bulbs … and software issues can happen to anything “smart”.I originally rated them 5 stars. Then I downgraded them to 1 star when they all disconnected. I’m now upgrading them back to 5 stars.——————Updated review 10/31/22:I have 9 Sengled zigbee bulbs. They worked great with Alexa….until they didn’t. They all disconnected on the same day and won’t reconnect. Alexa says they’re “not connected.” The Alexa app says “server is not responding.” While the bulbs can work as regular bulbs, I bought them specifically to work in an Alexa routine, and now they don’t. Zero stars.———————-Original review Sept 2022:I wanted zigbee bulbs, without needing any other app or hub, to connect to my Echo Show 10 which has zigbee. I don’t like having 20 different apps/hubs. I like all my devices on the Alexa app only. This bulb fits the bill.At first glance at the box, I didn’t see the word zigbee, but the Z icon is there on the box and on the bulb. This bulb is about .5” longer and about .38” wider than a standard incandescent bulb. The bulb is noticeably heavy in comparison to the LED bulb it was replacing. This bulb weighs 142g = 5oz; the bulb it replaced weighed 47g = 1.65oz. I’m a bit concerned that the bulbs are too heavy for the sockets, tbh. My light fixture is on the ceiling. Two bulbs lie parallel to the ceiling (i.e., the bulbs are in a horizontal position). So, the weight at the bulb portion of the bulb is causing stress on the socket. I guess time will tell if the socket breaks in some fashion due to the weight. Definitely weighty. Also, there’s a 1.625” vented circular spot at crown of the bulb that emits no light. I think that circular thing might be to allow heat to escape the bulb. The light comes out the sides of the bulb and part way up the crown. It provides plenty of light, but I can definitely see that there’s no light coming off the end of the bulb.I purchased the daylight bulbs. It’s nice, bright white, light. It works well with my Alexa routine.

    works with Amazon’s zigbee hub
It’s a zigbee device and should work with any zigbee hub. I had this installed and working for two weeks without any problems. Had a power outage here that lasted about two hours and the bulbs reconnected on their own without problems. Simple to use and set up… screw in the bulb and turn on the power to it, it goes through a process of diming and brighting a couple of times, tell Alexa to discover new device and when found will be indicated as a new light, then can change it’s name in the app. I’ve set them up as individual bulbs as well as having them in a group. They are dimmable and telling Alexa to set to a brightness they dim as they should.I would buy these again.

Worst rage inducing bulb on the planet!
I will never get the last two plus hours of my life back and I might never recover my reputation as a functional, emotionally stable human after the screaming rage fit this bulb/app/pairing with my Alexa experience has unleashed from the pit of my very being. My family is still giving me the side eye and my dog is hiding somewhere at this point. If you want a bulb that’s simple, straightforward, easily connects to your Alexa device, LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!!! The endless freaking loop of trying to connect, then link, then use Alexa to control the light over and over and over beside it won’t ever have the correct bulb to look for, or it does but this QR code on the bulb is way too small to register on your camera is enough to drive the most calm human to the brink of literal insanity. HOURS of the same ridiculous error messages, suggestions to delete completely and do the registration process all over again and on and on.I will never, as long as I live buy another Sengled product and to be truthful, I’d legit throw this piece of excrement directly in the trash and buy another that doesn’t necessitate a hellscape process just to work with my Alexa if I didn’t finally find a back door solution to connect the two apps and am beyond DONE with the whole light debacle.I hope to heck this works well and for a very long time, I’ll throw away the entire lamp and buy a new one before I’ll subject myself to that kind of frustration again!!!

    Double check everything before
These bulbs are definitely not compatible with the use-case I needed. The item I am reviewing is a Sengled E12 Base, B11 Bulb-shape, that is BLUETOOTH. You can confirm this by the markings on it’s base in the picture.First, I bought these bulbs after switching from a *Definitely Zigbee* bulb to an alternate (trying to get 2x instead of 4x bulbs), but didn’t realize this “Alternate” option was now *Bluetooth*.In my estimation, this should probably NOT be offered as an alternative to a ZIGBEE Bulb when it is not ZIGBEE. in fact, when I went to reviews on THIS PRODUCT, I definitely saw people trying to *CORRECT* and incorrectly saying “these ARE Zigbee” bulbs – but they were DEFINITELY NOT ZigBee.Furthermore, this bulb is VERY LONG compared to the other Candelabra bulbs that I have found (though narrow!). The B11 bulbs seem to be about 1.5″ across but almost 5″ long!Contrasted to the G16.5 bulbs that I was trying to replace which were more like 2.5″ across x 3.5″ depth – and there was not room for the extra 1.5″ depth for the B11 bulb-shape in the appliance’s Glass cover. As far as I can tell Sengled doesn’t make any Globe-style Candelabra bulbs. But I was able to find some bulbs that were NOT B11, but ARE E12 base through terms like “E12 Zigbee bulb” – just be certain to double-check that they are still Zigbee

As a crafting business owner and jeweler, I’m always on the lookout for innovative lighting solutions that can enhance both my workspace and living areas. When I came across the Sengled Alexa Light Bulbs, I was intrigued by the promise of color-changing capabilities and compatibility with Alexa. On the positive side, the color-changing feature of these bulbs is quite impressive. With a wide range of colors and brightness levels, they allow me to create various ambiance settings to suit different moods and occasions. The ability to control them with voice commands via Alexa adds an extra layer of convenience, especially when my hands are occupied with crafting materials or jewelry pieces. However, there are a few drawbacks that I’ve encountered. Firstly, these bulbs only work with Alexa and do not support other smart home platforms like Google Assistant or Apple HomeKit. This limited compatibility may be a downside for those who use different voice assistants or prefer a more integrated smart home setup.Additionally, I’ve noticed that the setup process can be a bit finicky at times, especially when connecting the bulbs to my Wi-Fi network. While the Sengled app provides step-by-step instructions, I found myself having to troubleshoot connectivity issues occasionally, which can be frustrating.Overall, while the Sengled Alexa Light Bulbs offer some impressive features like color-changing capabilities and voice control, their limited compatibility and occasional setup challenges make for a somewhat mixed experience. They’re a decent option for adding smart lighting to your home or workspace, but be prepared to spend some time troubleshooting during setup.
