Mr Aloha Friday –
Large, impressive piece. Sage green is beautiful. Adjusted a few things included the top rope.
Mrs Aloha Friday wasn’t fond of a few things about the wall hanging, but felt it was more about personal taste and the item still deserved 5 stars. She wanted me to share her thoughts on some of the issues though, so here we go.The giant plastic stickers adhered to the back of each feather or leaf design to keep their shape were unsightly to Mrs AF. She could see the edges of the plastic around the front of the feathers, but more than that, she knew the plastic was there. The boho, natural look with plastic backing holding the feathers out stiffly just didn’t sit well with her. So, she took one for the team and removed some of them. She said you can gently remove the stickers, but hold the knots with one hand while you peel the sticker off with the other. If you don’t, as the sticker peels off (it’s not difficult to do at all), it can pull or loosen the knots. So, hold them with your thumb as each one appears from under the sticker. Once you have removed it, against the manufacturer’s recommendation, your feather or leaf is going to drape more loosely, which is exactly what she wanted. She combed them gently before removal of the stickers and afterwards, while holding onto the knots. She likes the piece much better this way and is removing the rest of the stickers. She said the front strands of the feathers were draping down anyway because only the back strands came in contact with the sticker. To her, this feels more natural and fits the relaxed vibe. Totally a personal choice, she just wanted to let you know if you were curious. In our photos, Mrs AF tried to show you the difference between an ivory feather with the sticker in place and a green feather with the sticker removed. The pole being in 3 parts isn’t a problem at all, but it would be nice if there were notches at each end to secure the hanging rope like most of these have. Otherwise, the rope just pulls towards the center and pushes the hanging pieces together. I’m going to cut notches in the ends for Mrs Aloha Friday so she can restring the rope. She’s going to knot the ends so they can each hook into the notches. This will shorten the rope, leaving less empty space on the wall and bring the pole upwards, which she prefers. The knot at the top of the rope was uneven, which caused the pole to hang crookedly, as well, so it really needed fixing anyway. With the rope at the very ends of the pole, there will be more room to push the hanging elements in the design apart evenly.Other than these issues, she was really pleased. It’s a large, interesting piece. She said the sage green color variation she received isn’t available as of this writing, but if it is later, it was very well represented in the product photos. There are light and dark sage hues; the sage is a a true gray/green, like eucalyptus. Our wall color is Revere Pewter for reference.

Nice addition to the master bathroom
I ordered the green and off-white version of this macrame to go with the colors in my master bath (cream walls with green garden tub and sinks). I am pleased with how well it matches. It took a moment to figure out how to assemble this and get everything straightened out. There’s no way to assembly the three posts incorrectly as the two outer posts are mirror images of each other. What I didn’t realize until I read the instructions and other reviews is how to orient the leaves and strings. I wondered why the leaves had plastic on one side and came to realize that the leaves are one-sided for display purposes. The plastic is what keeps the leaf threads in the correct orientation; I initially thought the plastic was for shipping only…glad I read the instructions before removing it. With only one side of the leaves being for display (you don’t want to display the side with the plastic), this macrame needs to hung in a position where viewers can only see the display side, i.e. up against a wall or in a corner. It is not meant to be hung out in the open where both sides of the macrame are visible. There is a set of strings in between each leaf. What I came to find out is that these strings server the purpose of keeping the leaves facing outward and not rotating at will. It’s a cleverly designed macrame that works.I got this to hang on the ceiling hook in the bathroom that has been empty since I purchased the house many years ago. By sheer luck, the way I hung the macrame from the hook keeps the macrame in the perfect orientation in the corner so that it is always facing the correct direction. It is in the corner and is diagonal to the two walls, providing a more 3D view instead of just hanging flat against the wall.I see nothing to subtract a star for with this product. Just realize that only one side is for displaying. Hopefully the plastic backing on the leaves stays in place indefinitely…that would be my only concern.
