For many homeowners, the garage door is the most used entry point to the home – not to mention the largest. Having up-to-date information about who is accessing your garage at any given time can provide immense peace of mind. And being able to operate your garage door from your smart device is the ultimate convenience! Do both of these and more with Genie’s Aladdin Connect smartphone connectivity. This WIFI garage door opener gives you power over your home by monitoring your garage door’s status at all times. If your garage door is opening or closing, Aladdin Connect will alert you – whether the user is authorized or not. Aladdin Connects Security Advantage is the sensor attached to the garage door itself so if an intruder disengaged your system and manually opened your garage door, you would know about it! Aladdin Connect Smart Phone Connectivity is now even smarter, offering new time-based features. These include creating a virtual key, setting a close time for your door, and setting a time frame within which to close your door. This means you can use your garage door controller to provide temporary or permanent access to friends, relatives or service repair workers. You can also ensure that your door gets closed each night by setting it to automatically close at whatever time you choose. You can also set the door to automatically close after it has been left open for a certain amount of time, giving you peace of mind if you’re already on the road and can’t remember if you closed the garage door or not! Plus, the Aladdin Connect is also now compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for the ultimate all-around convenience and security. The Genie Aladdin Connect has a free downloadable app, is easy to install and set up, and increases safety by making your garage door smarter and you more aware. Get connected and stay connected with the Aladdin Connect! Your Wi-Fi router must meet this specification: 802.11 b/g/n, 2.4GHz with WPA2 or WPA Security.
WIFI ENABLED GARAGE DOOR: The Aladdin Connect garage door controller gives you the ability to monitor, open and close your garage door with your smartphone or smart device from anywhere. Also compatible with Amazon Alexa, & Google Assistant.

Fully featured. Simple install.
TLDR; Works well and much happier with this solution over the originally installed Q competitor. The scenario functions (both schedule and timer) are much more advanced in the Aladdin product, in addition to the Alexa integration not available in the other.Bought the competing Q product first, as it was $20 cheaper (and then realized it was only $5 difference after I bought the mount for it). While that product was a simpler install (pair it as if another remote), it did not connect to Alexa – only controlled via app. I don’t always have my phone in hand so voice control via Alexa is where I see the largest benefits of a “smart” home. After realizing the price was $5 difference I unplugged the other and bought the Aladdin. My door opener is a newer Genie installed last year. The initial setup for both products is very similar. I recommend that you setup the app and complete the linking prior to hardware install. Once the two devices are synced, you can unplug and then mount. The pairing was stored even though it was almost 2 weeks in between the pairing and final install. For install, I’d recommend watching a few of the videos here on Amazon. The written instructions aren’t bad but there are options in install that while noted in the setup sheet, aren’t detailed enough to help differentiate A from B. I had already watched the videos prior to purchase to confirm functionality so I was aware of the options and how I wanted to set mine up. However, if you’re relying just on the simple setup doc, it may be a little too simplified. For the door mount, I used a drywall anchor and one of the existing holes in the garage door frame. Living in the South, I don’t trust sticker mounts. I mounted the sensor lower on the door since I have windows in the top panels. This will also make any future battery replacement easier (no need for a step ladder to reach). Works well. The ceiling mount is what gave me the most pause in thinking where to mount. Be aware of the connecting wires between your main opener and the Aladdin controller – you’ll want to keep those free from any moving parts. I ended up mounting on the same side as the wire inputs to avoid running the wire across the opener itself which avoids any potential snags or pulls. Luckily for me, the ceiling plug was also on that same side. With the controller facing the garage door.I can now feel confident that the garage door is not inadvertently left open overnight. While it is part of our evening routine to check the doors, I no longer have to open door between the house and the garage to check and I’m looking forward to removing it from my mind entirely. Using the saved schedule, have it set to auto close if the door is opened at any point after our normal dinner hour and before we leave for work in the AM. Door will operate normally and auto-close 5 minutes later. You can set the auto close to a timer, rather than a schedule. Meaning, close door after being open for X minutes. However, that doesn’t work for us since my husband likes to putter in the yard and leave the garage open while he does so. As much as I prefer the door closed, the Aladdin gives us both a solution that works for us. We’ve got it set so that if it’s dark outside, door will auto close. Otherwise, he can leave it open while he’s in the yard during the day.The controller gives you the option of setting behavior based on day of the week as well. So you could timer close during the weekdays and schedule close on weekends. We may eventually do that but for now, we are both happy with the setup.Overall much better solution than the competitor. Happy with the control and flexibility it provides.

Don’t buy Used like New
Bought Amazon “Used like New” to save $20. It arrived and looked like new condition but would not power on, obviously not checked when originally returned. I returned and got a replacement “Used like New.” This one was missing door sensor, which is required, the cover on the controller, and the mounting screws and brackets! Another obviously not checked when returned. Went to the Genie website and found it could be purchased new for just a few bucks more with a coupon. Now with a full working unit found install and connectivity was simple when mounting on opener bracket. Works well so far.

Solid Smart Upgrade for Older Garage Door Openers
This turned out to be a **great replacement solution** for my garage door setup. My garage door motor system is very old, and none of the modern replacement remotes would work with it. The Genie Aladdin Connect solved that problem easily—**hardwiring it directly to the base was straightforward**, and it worked right away.**Pros:*** The app makes it easy to grant access to multiple family members, which is very convenient.* Reliable door operation once installed, even with legacy hardware.* A solid way to modernize an older garage without replacing the entire motor system.**Cons:*** It really should include **two door sensors**, or at least offer a bundle option for the common two-garage-door setup.* The mobile app occasionally logs out, which can be annoying.* Apple voice shortcuts don’t reliably control the door and often require opening and interacting with the app directly.Overall, it’s a **strong hardware solution** that works especially well for older garage door systems, but the software experience could use some refinement.

Nice Unit. Works! Suitable for Overhead Door or Genie!. Happy, happy, happy!
Works with Overhead Door units made after a certain date…same company. A little tricky to get set up on the wi fi system because I didn’t realize that the mobile app won’t show it completely connected until the main unit is paired with the garage door open/ shut sensor. I also called Support for help with wiring, as I only needed to serially join it to my existing opener…new one wont control lights like the older one does, so we just made the new one an ‘add on’. All in all, I am pleased. It wasn’t too tough to set up after I got straightened out by Support, which was GREAT! I recommend this unit for anyone with an Overhead Door/ Genie Aladdin system manufactured after the correct compatibility date. Also, this unit is less costly than the identical unit that is branded Overhead Door. Works off of the Genie Aladdin mobile app on the App Store.

Easy to connect with enclose instructions.
Easy to connect with enclosed instructions. Just make sure that your garage opener is compatible prior to purchasing it. I had a little be of trouble connecting it to my WIFI network but it was because the signal was weak. You may also need the user instructions for your garage opener, to know how to connect the wire to it.

You need this in your life
I’ve been putting off getting this far too. I use this on a 20 year-old genie pro Max and it works great. I really don’t see how it could not work on almost every garage door opener since it basically just replaces or adds a button. All the cool features are built into it and have nothing to do with the garage door opener itself.. so far it’s working great I will update this review if I have any issues with

I use this as an additional sensor for my second garage door. Seems to work quite well. Consistently remains connected with the door control module and operates reliably.

No es muy fácil su instalación, y no lo he logrado enlazar a Google Home. Estoy en Mexico, no se si eso afecte.
