let’s enjoy a warm winter together!
This winter is way too cold, and I couldn’t wait—I told my husband to hurry up and install it. When my husband opened the box he said it looks like good quality. The whole installation only took seven minutes. I really can’t understand whether those negative reviews were malicious. It is silver, but that’s because you didn’t peel off the outer white protective film. The flame becomes larger shortly after you turn it on, and then you can adjust it according to your needs. I couldn’t wait to leave a review for it right away.

Reflector is too small
We received this heater a week ago. Shipping was within a reasonable time frame. It looks like a decent quality heater. The glass tube was cracked. It was packed well in styrofoam. The box had minor damage to one corner. Our guess is that it was dropped in shipping. It was difficult to contact the “third party seller”. With help from Amazon we received a reply from the seller within 24hrs of contacting Amazon. Seller offered to ship us a replacement tube. We agreed. We haven’t received it yet. They said it would take about a week.We decided to unpack and try the heater. The quality seems good, and we like the appearance. It was fairly cold outside when we tested it on our veranda. Approximately 47F. The veranda is approximately 16×8. 50% covered by a roof, and protected fully on both sides by walls. It’s not entirely enclosed, but it’s a fairly protected space. We looked at many different heaters, but settled on this one due to price, and it’s also shorter than many other heaters. We needed the shorter heater to keep it a few feet away from the roof. It worked out well in that respect.First thoughts were that it put out a good amount of heat, but only if we were standing within a few feet of the heater itself. It helped to take the chill off, but it was somewhat lacking. We didn’t hope or expect it to make the veranda warm and cozy, but we were hoping it would make the area warm enough to sit out there and enjoy our view of the mountains in the fall. We let it run for about an hour and it made a difference, but it was still insufficient to warm the area. The manual states that the heater will struggle below 40F. It was 47F. We were hoping for an increase into the 50s. We thought that was a reasonable expectation. We didn’t use a thermometer, but we walked off the veranda into the yard several times. We could feel heat coming off of the heater when walking back up, but it wasn’t really heating the area much at all.We started looking for a way to improve the situation. We looked at reflectors that you can attach to the existing reflector. We came across reflectors that were replacements for other heaters, that were larger diameter. We took a chance and bought a 33” reflector and also one of the ones you hang on the side. They were reasonably priced, and we thought it was worth a try. The reflector that comes with this heater is approximately 22”The 33” reflector mounting holes didn’t line up so I had to drill new holes. The 33” reflector made a huge improvement. The hang on reflector made an even bigger improvement. With the modifications the heater seems to be putting out a reasonable amount of heat.We ordered a 2nd and plan to make the same modification. We expect to be very happy with the result. We ran the heater several times over several days on one tank of fuel. It’s going to use a lot of fuel if we use it as much as we hope to, but it seems reasonable.

So Much Ambience so little Heat….
One of the most beautiful propane gas heaters I’ve seen. We needed a shorter heater under the patio. (TMI the last one melted our windows due to it’s height. LOL) Great little heater IF your standing 4 inches from it. I read another buyer’s review & how they modified with a larger hat reflector. We are exploring this direction as well for the Colorado nights are not a light “low”. So if you need a decorative fire piece that makes you ‘feel’ cozy. This is perfect. 3 stars for aesthetics and it seems to be well constructed-just not well constructed for the function it’s supposed to do.

Terrible Purchase Decision
So many things wrong with the design of this thing. The white color on the base is a s****y, easily nicked, poorly cut and applied wrap. The receiving posts used to bolt the top to the base was a terrible design feature. Two of them immediately unattached themselves from the base when the bolts were started into them leaving the most important part of this thing insecure. Will need to be tack-welded into place to make it safe. The top heat reflector is way too small, but it fit in the box just fine. Sigh…and it certainly isn’t 40,000 BTU. My fire pit table casts more heat than this thing could ever hope to put out. Had to modify the top reflector to make it bigger and added a vertical reflector around it to make it work the way it should to begin with.
