A great starter kit, and great lights!
This is an excellent starter kit for the Philips hue brand. These are probably the highest quality smart lights on the market, and the functionality and app is great. They provide excellent brightness (75W equivalent), and a beautiful range of color. Setup with this kit is easy. Keep an eye out for sales on these kits because you can get some great deals!

Works so well, I gave them as gifts, too.
I greatly dislike coming into an empty house and Alexa isn’t always helpful, HomeKit either. I have replaced ALL of my bulbs, except the chandeliers and five bathrooms with Phillip Hue. I have regular bulbs, BR30s, motion detectors, and switches in whites and colors. The sunrise sunset timer is my favorite, especially since I can make it random. The switches are perfect when Alexa doesn’t respond or we just need to be quiet. Set for the kitchen, halls, and stairs, I turn it on or off from the bedroom hall or the kitchen and adjust the the lights. The convenience of the switches, motion detectors, and lights, makes my smart home smarter with the addition of new product. I have gifted Phillip Hue products to family and friends. The theme in 2020 was a Hue Christmas. The last purchase is for my godson. He can command the lights in my house and now his lights are on when he gets home, too. There are lots of cheaper options but you get what you pay for. I’ve had my oldest lights in high traffic areas for over four years. During the pandemic, the everyone (and SIs) came here, and there were four of us working from home. There are at least 22 lights per floor, with more in the basement for the library. I was great to be able to turn off lights on the second floor, or basement, when we were around the fireplaces or hanging out in the family room.

    Cozy room with little effort
This kit was very affordable and easy to setup, i already use the hue app for another location so just added a new home it asked for a hub which was easy to add following the steps, it had to update so that took less than 10 minutes, then the hue bulbs, I did not wat to scan them so just choosed no qr and the app searched for them and found them, then renaming the bulbs and last was the smart button which is cery good a set it up so that it cycles scenes of colors when pressed again, the first press is of course on/off and that is it really, a cozy place in less than 20 minutes

Excellent Purchase if you Purchase with the Hub
To begin, I bought the started pack with the hub to replace older (about 2 year) smart bulbs that fell off the internet every other month or so and maybe came back on and maybe not. I figured I would invest in the version with the hub instead. The setup was easy and everything worked as advertised. I connected to my Alexa and that integration went well. Everything works flawlessly. If there is a complaint it’s with the phone app. Twice I had to google how to do something because the app was not intuitive enough. That said, it was a great buy, though pricey. If you are using these bulbs without the hub you are better off buying cheaper bulbs that serve the same purpose though as I said my two year experience was bad because every time the internet hiccuped, my connected smart devices took a long time to reconnect. Since these bulbs connect through a wired hub they seem much more reliable.

Takes some set up but worth it
I had to hit a bunch of those “I agree, lets get on with it” buttons and do x, y, and z for the setup. It was easy just a little monotonous. Then I spent probably about 20-30 minutes tweaking the settings, setting up both Siri and Alexa on it and positioning my lights.I actually really like the button and would prefer if they included two instead of just one so that way I could use both the smaller and larger mag mounts plus have one next to my bed and one at my computer desk or near my conventional light switch.Either way, I think this works pretty well in multiple rooms and the bridge is easy enough to setup.Probably about as good as you can do on both price and function for something like this.Great!

Pricey, underwhelming, tricky to set up, but packed with features.
The lights themselves arent as bright as I had imagined, you definitely need a few to light up a whole room. I bought the white and color starter pack that came with 3 white and color bulbs, a wall button, and the hue hub and set the whole system up in the living room, where the router is.First thing I noticed was the lights worked good but the wall button wasn’t working right. Thankfully the fix was just updating everything, although that did take about 4 hours even on gigabit wifi and I had to keep the lights on the whole time. After updating things, though, everything works as advertised. Tons of colors, cool features in the app, a whole lot of good stuff. Only issue I had was the Hue Sync PC app. I had found nothing will show even when connected unless you go into the app on your phone, go to settings, and create an “entertainment area” via a selection in the settings. Only then will that entertainment area pop up on your PC app, but once that happens, you can do some really, and I mean REALLY cool stuff like sync to music with variable settings and custom color pallettes along with the game mode that syncs colors to whats on your screen and can be set to react to sound as well with variable intensities.Other than that, my only lasting complaint is the price. The kit is really cool, but I dont feel completely satisfied considering how much I spent on the kit. I want to buy more bulbs, but those too are insanely pricey and I will most likely wait to catch them on sale or buy them used.

    Pricey
5 stars. The colors are very accurate. Brightness could be better as my wife complains about how the cheaper ones are way brighter. But the brightness percentage is very accurate. A cheap light bulbs 50% brightness is not actually ½ the brightness whereas the Hue brand, it actually is. Pretty pricey though. Makes me reconsider switching out all of lightbulbs for these.UPDATE: above still stands true minus the last sentence. The Philips Hue app is what makes these great. The transitions into colors is so smooth. Lights make a huge difference in the vibes. And you can that plus much more with Hue Labs.I totally recommend these lights.

El que tenga los 3 focos (que no son de colores), más el botón de encendido y el Bridge, es un excelente combo. Yo lo tomé a gran precio.

I always wanted a set of Philips Hue lights but was somewhat intimidated by the setup process, more-so because I never had experience with smart lighting previously. Setting these up couldn’t have been easier – the hub and lights were all installed and working in 30 minutes. The app walks you through step-by-step, and I had no issues installing and getting everything to work. Now that I have them, I wish I would have bought them sooner. You install the bulbs and turn on the light fixtures, get the hub connected to your router and plugged into the wall, then open up the app. It will ask if you have a hub and your wifi information, which will then take a few minutes to connect. Once it’s connected, it automatically recognizes your lights which you can name and begin setting up. My hub didn’t recognize my wifi on the first try, but on the second try it worked perfectly. Everything has been working smoothly since that initial setup process with no connection loss or issues.I’m primarily using my smart lights on a set of various hanging lamps that plug into A/C outlets, all of which I had to turn on/off/dim individually. It wasn’t difficult or a burden to use and adjust them individually, but it also wasn’t the most convenient. I couldn’t change their color settings, and it wasn’t always easy to match up their dimming output with each other. Being able to control them now with a wall switch, as well as being able to adjust their color and dim settings on the app, has been a wonderful quality-of-life addition.I did purchase a different wall controller from Philips that allows me to dim the lights, so I haven’t used the single-button one that came with this set. I’ve read that you aren’t able to dim the lights with the single-button controller in this kit (that was an important feature for me to have), so I can’t comment on its function or usefulness. If you don’t need a dimming feature for your wall controller and/or you’re going to strictly use your phone to control your lights, this is a fantastic set to purchase. The dimmer switch I purchased separately from Philips works perfectly for my setup. In the future I think it would be better for Philips to include the dimming wall controller, even if it cost a little more, simply because it adds a very useful feature that I think most people would want to have. Maybe Philips does offer a kit with the dimming wall switch, but at the time of my purchase, they didn’t have a kit with the dimmer switch in a set.If you’ve been thinking about getting a set of smart lights but have been hesitant to jump into it due to unfamiliarity, I can reassure you that it’s much easier to set up than it appears. Cost of course is a big factor when purchasing these lights, especially because it’s more of a convenience than anything. If I was dealing with hard-wired lighting and didn’t need to change their colors or set them up on a schedule, I’d have a harder time recommending them. But if you want options and flexibility, and/or you have various lights that are plugged into outlets, it makes a lot more sense to splurge on smart lighting. I couldn’t be happier with these bulbs and the hub for my needs.
