Excellent Garage Door.
Seems to be a very good Garage Door and works well. Not bad to assemble, but you may need some assistance in actually getting it mounted into your ceiling. It is not heavy, but when you connect the far end to above the Garage door, it is very likely that if you are solo that you will damage it. This unit does support WIFI. What I like about it is not using it to open the door, but more so to see if the door opens when you are not there. You can also remote from anywhere with WIFI or cellular capability open the door from remote so they can put a package inside, or even if you want to open it to allow someone else that you trust to go inside. There are a tone of options with this one. While the unit is not Noisy or over loud, you can hear it operate! There was 1 critical Part that was missing, and a quick contact to support at Chamberlin they had one immediately shipped out to me with out any questions.

7 foot doors only. 8 foot can be used with an additional kit
This was a replacement, so I could reuse some of the hardware from the old unit. Installation was easy with the app step by step; you can even move the diagram around to see it from different angles. I made a few mistakes with the wiring, but I was able to figure it out. For example, it wasn’t clear to me that you had to split the sensor wires and twist together the white/white and black/black.Setting up the door movement was easy. I got the height exactly where I wanted it. Since installing the unit is quiet and operates well. I docked one star, because it wasn’t obvious this kit was for 7 foot doors only. I had to spend another $60 for the extension bar and longer belt for my 8 foot door.

Great price, very quiet, internet enabled
This is a fantastic GD opener at a great price. I bought it to replace a 20+ year old Liftmaster (made by Chamberlain) and used the old mounts, belt rail, shuttle, sensors and door attach hardware. It fit perfectly into the old mounts but uses a different type of belt (20 tooth) than my old opener. I also had to get a longer belt than the 234” belt that came with it ($50 on Amazon). Once that arrived, it all went together well. The setup was easy, just follow the directions, and it is a LOT quieter than my old opener. I like the fact that you can open and close it over the internet using the app. Now my wife wants one for her garage door – arraaagh!

Quiet belt driven opener that uses security 2.0, this is essential if you care to program any homelink equipped vehicle (of which all of my cars were equipped) to control the opener.Any of the newer openers that chamberlain makes feature security 3.0 which (from what I understand) is too new for any homelink remotes that are not security 3.0 to connect to.Big shortcoming of the newer openers as they do have more modern, lighter, quieter dc motors installed (no doubt to support California’s battery back up requirements) but hey…maybe in the next life.

Not an easy replacement for other brand openers
You better be an above average DIY person. I replaced a 20 year old Overhead Door Legacy opener. Overhead Door is a proprietary opener that requires a Tech to install it. It was going to be close to $1000! So I bought the highly rated Chamberlain. The geometry is entirely different because of the spring location. I ended up with the unit only 3/4″ from the ceiling! Frustration beyond imagination. If you are replacing an old Chamberlain – go for it. If not, hire “the guy”, be ready for a slog, or just go manual. BTW: 1) there is little to know help on the web concerning installation troubles. 2) you cannot use your existing sensors – they won’t communicate with the unit. It works quietly as advertised but installation was not straight forward and the Built app instructions weak. I can’t get the MyQ to work either. It works great but it is barely DIY if at all. For reference: I have remodeled 7 homes in 3 states so I have a clue and thousands of dollars in tools.

After 9 years of operation without needing maintenance, other than replacing the gear… My Chamberlain door opener broke down after a thunderstorm. Needing to replace the control board, I decided to buy a new one from Amazon. It didn’t take long to get to Saudi Arabia. Installation was very easy and I didn’t need a specialized technician. I did it using the attached manual and some YouTube clips. The new opener is very quiet and is integrated with the myq. The remote control is weak, it only works from a very close distance, but the myq eliminates this problem.

La marca es muy buena, tengo experiencia con estos motores de tenerlos de varios años, hasta el momento he pedido 3 motores y voy a pedir uno más.Les comparto que el motor tiene “todo lo necesario para su instalación” esto es importante mencionarlo porque cuando ví la publicación del producto no ví que precisaran si contenido, el motor viene con una cadena nueva, un carro así entiendo que se le denomina que arrastra la cadena, rieles nuevos y herraje nuevo, tiene todos los accesorios que se ocupan para su uso.Los dos primeros me fueron vendidos por Amazon de Estados Unidos y el tercero me lo vendió Amazon México.En los dos primeros me tardaron en llegar precisamente por la distancia (casi un mes) muy bien empacados, y el tercero (último, más reciente) me llegó rápido casi en una semana pero no traía la caja de Amazon lo que se me hizo raro no obstante Amazon de México me ofreció que incluso en casi de no llegar a tiempo el motor me rembolsaban completamente lo que había gastado, lo cual, me fui traía la tranquilidad de que mi compra estaba bien garantizada.
